The best diners in Montreal with amazing greasy eats
"This Mont Royal mainstay got its start in 1942 when newlyweds Hymie and Freda Shkolnick (RIP) took over Bancroft Snack Bar across from what once was a hockey rink. Word about Freda’s mish-mash omelette and Hymie’s bowling nickname “Beauty” quickly spread, and the rest is history. Nowadays it’s hard to come by a blue booth or counter stool without a short lineup, but the wait is nothing that a Beauty’s Special—a bagel sandwich with lox, red onion, capers and cream cheese—can’t make better."

Best Places to Eat in Montreal for First Time Visitors
"One of my friendliest food experiences in Montreal was breakfast at family-owned Beauty's. Beauty's Restaurant was founded in 1942 by Hymie & Freda Sckolnick when they bought the Bancroft Snack Bar. As their luncheonette grew in popularity, patrons began referring to it by Hymie's bowling nickname, Beauty's."

Where to find the best brunch in Montreal
"A hip, lighthearted spot that hit the ground running when it first opened in 2010, Fabergé has since become a Mile End go-to for nourishing hangover cures. The interior is open and airy, which does well to accommodate the hordes of famished bunchers the restaurant receives on the regular, and the menu has a distinct ‘turned up to 11’ character about it. The menu is lengthy and features arrays of creative eggs Benedicts, breakfast sandwiches, omelettes, and more— as well as a bunch of wacky and decadent outliers."

The 11 Best Italian Restaurants in Montreal
"What you're getting: Squash and poppy seed gnocchi (or any brunch dish)Mile EndFit for Mile End (read: hip), Barcola is a small resto-bar that prides itself on making dishes reminiscent of of meals made in Northern Italy. Each and every day, Head Chef Fabrizio Caprioli creates a menu featuring just three appetizers and three mains. A large part of Barcola's culinary reputation stems from the restaurant's original creation of squash and poppy seed gnocchi topped with butter, sage, and smoked ricotta."

19 Supremely Good Italian Restaurants in Montreal
"Chef Fabrizio Caprioli serves up the flavours of northern Italy, including eggplant pizza and seafood tagliatelle that tastes like a trip to the Adriatic. It’s a charming modern Mile End spot, with daily specials changing throughout the week, special events such as aperitivo night, and dishes that feel positively luxurious for the (mostly under $20) price tag. Catering is available as well."

15 Best Things to Do in Montreal With Kids All Year Round
"Parc Mont-Royal was inaugurated in 1976 in an effort to preserve a natural space in the city’s core, but the park has been an important social meeting ground for generations before it was made official. Today, it’s the site of the weekly Tam Tam drum circle, vast picnic grounds, an excellent toboggan hill where equipment can be rented for a nominal fee, a lookout at the summit and multiple hiking trails."

The best parks to check out in and around Montreal this summer
"You can’t mention parks in Montreal without highlighting Mont Royal Park. Sure, it hosts two hockey rinks in the winter but nothing tops Mont Royal Park’s weekly Tam-Tams parties every Sunday which is currently on hiatus. The park’s main attraction is the George-Etienne Cartier monument and the park’s liveliness stems from the sound of the drums from which Tam-Tams gets its name."

"In fact, if you’ve put “feed the bears” on your list of what to do in Montreal, you only have one real option: the Ecomuseum Zoo. The Ecomuseum Zoo is a small zoo located on the very tip of the Island of Montreal. It isn’t fancy, and it doesn’t have state-of-the-art facilities like some of the bigger wildlife facilities in Canada."

Incredible Izakayas: Montreal’s Best Beer- and Sake-Soaked Japanese Pubs
"At a classic izakaya, atmosphere is just as important as the food and drink, and Imadake is no exception. One of Montreal’s original Japanese pubs serves up a vast and varied menu, along with sake bombs and spontaneous karaoke to make up all the fun. You may leave without a voice and smelling like fried chicken skin, but you’ll be full, tipsy, and very happy."
