The Best Bakery in Victoria
"Another relatively new addition to the downtown bakery scene, though it has been in place a for a few years. Crust took over a location from the long lived Rhineland Bakery, though I do not think there is any connection between the two. The first thing you will notice about Crust is their absolutely stunning display window."

"Fern is the spot to indulge in fabulous vegan cinnamon buns and doughnuts. Aside from baked goods and Discovery coffee, they also offer a full food menu with fantastic options such as the Buttermilk Pancakes or the Buffalo Chickun Burger (best accompanied with a side poutine). Having only recently celebrated their second anniversary last fall, Fern’s menu has continued to evolve with exciting dishes and features."

Insider's Guide to Best Vegan Restaurants in Victoria, B.C.
"First and foremost, let’s start off with my favorite café, Fern Café and Bakery. Serving up organic award-winning coffee from Fresh Cup Roastery Café, this newcomer just opened up shop a couple of weeks ago. In that short amount of time, the local community has embraced Victoria’s first all-vegan café with open arms."

"I don't know if I've been living under a rock but until I wrote this and had a recommendation to try here, I never even knew there was a diner past all those mouth-watering treats you see from the sidewalk. This place undoubtedly has some of the best cakes and pastries, but their diner was a real treat. The old fashioned feel is lots of fun for the kids."

"This bakery is now being run by the third generation of the Schaddelee family, who originally opened it up in 1956. If there is a longer running bakery in Victoria, I am unaware of it. For me my favourite thing about the Dutch Bakery are all the little petit fours."

"Wildfire is usually the second bakery that I pass by on my way to work. Again the smell gets you right away with a mix of wood fire smoke and browning crust blowing down Mason Street, by the time you get there you want to go in. They have a good selection of bread and if you want a nice pizza for lunch you really can't go wrong here."
