The 21 best restaurants in Victoria
"What is it: Breakfast and brunch are huge in Victoria, and brick-walled, coffee-scented Jam wins for its all-day egg-stravaganzas. Only problem is, every other early-rising hipster in town is in line ahead of you—and the venue doesn’t take reservations. But, once you get in, creative cocktails like the Madras mimosa and the bacon-garnished Bourbonator Caesar soothe the sting."

"Expect a queue at this renowned breakfast spot, but rest assured — the classic comfort food is worth the wait. Legendarily massive portions of American classics like huevos rancheros and red velvet pancakes await inside this exceptional eatery. Don’t miss the Charlie Bowl, a delicious mess of biscuits and gravy with cheese, eggs and green onions."

"You will be sure to find all the classic breakfast favorites but loads of other options such pulled pork pancakes or their infamous Charlie Bowl – a breakfast hash of sorts with crumbled biscuits, peas, ham, sausage gravy and more!. If you are on the adventurous side, it is a do-not miss in my opinion."

"While it's nothing fancy, their simple burgers and hotdogs are a huge hit with families. The seating inside is limited but they have a covered patio, and it's a fun experience to order from the window outside like it's a real drive in. One of the best parts is its location - I highly suggest taking a stroll through Beacon Hill Park during your outing, and even visiting the Petting Zoo (by donation) if you have time!"

"This spot isn't nestled downtown and isn't necessarily and hop-skip-and-a-jump from most work places, but trust us when we tell you it's worth the trip into Rock Bay. Saltchuck Pies specializes in savoury and sweet pies, salads, and offerings from Fernwood Coffee Company. Their rotating selection of savoury pies baked in the traditional Australian/New Zealand tradition will have you back for more."

"I don't know if I've been living under a rock but until I wrote this and had a recommendation to try here, I never even knew there was a diner past all those mouth-watering treats you see from the sidewalk. This place undoubtedly has some of the best cakes and pastries, but their diner was a real treat. The old fashioned feel is lots of fun for the kids."

I always feel good knowing about the environmental practices and local support that Big Wheel exhibit, not to mention, the staff has always been phenomenal, the service is speedy, and the atmosphere is fun and diner-esque. If the weather is nice we usually order to go and take our food down to beach or park at the end of Cook St. If it’s a bit rainy, we like staying inside at the diner like booths to enjoy our meals."
